Welcome...
to the official website of
Buckle-Up Bulldogs – a student led campaign to remind
everyone to buckle-up every person, every trip, every time.
Lonely Hearts Awareness
Below are pictures of the Valentine Tables
that were set up to remind people that Snuggling Up to Your
Seatbelt during the month of love is a necessity. Those who
were waiting for their love are still waiting for those who
died from not wearing a seatbelt.

2008 Radio Spots

Radio Spots
Students
at St. Thomas School have been busy writing radio spots for
the Buckle-up Bulldog Campaign. The radio spots will be
aired on KJAM in an effort to bring awareness about the
importance of wearing seatbelts. Buckle-up Bulldogs is a
student led campaign which is trying to bring awareness to
the community about wearing seatbelts. Their hope is that
individuals will take the time to use their seatbelts and
lower the number of injuries or deaths caused by not wearing
a seatbelt.
- Whether you’re going to a Madison Bulldog activity
or going to the Indy 500, you should buckle up to be
safe. Hello, I’m Tyler of St. Thomas School just
reminding you that it only takes 3 seconds to put your
seat belt on. So, it’s 3 seconds versus your whole life.
Be safe, buckle up! (Grade 5)
- Hello, I’m Peityn of St. Thomas School reminding you
that if you wear a seatbelt, then you can be safe.
Don’t forget to Buckle up! (Grade 2)
- Each year, over 7000 people in the United States die
not wearing seatbelts. We can decrease this number if
we all wear seatbelts. I’m Madison of St. Thomas School
encouraging you to see that seatbelts are a great way to
stay safe. Click it or get a ticket! Buckle up! (Grade
4)
- I’m Tiania of St. Thomas School asking you to
remember to buckle up. Keep children safe by putting
them in the back seat and buckling them up. (Grade 3)
- You never know when you might be in an accident, so
you should wear a seatbelt all the time to protect
yourself. I’m Jerett of St. Thomas School, reminding you
to remind other people to wear their seatbelts…it’s
another way to say “I love you.” (Kindergarten)
- No matter how good of a driver you are, you can’t
always prevent an accident from happening, but you can
reduce or prevent injury. I’m Erin of St. Thomas School
hoping you see how safe; yet simple it is to buckle up.
Remember…buckle up for safety. (Grade 5)
- It only takes 3 seconds to put on your seatbelt.
Using that time could save your life, or someone you
love. I’m, Maryssa of St. Thomas School asking you to
buckle up. (Grade 5)
- I’m Emma of St. Thomas School and I have a safety
message for you.
I was in the car
It wasn’t very far
We saw a car crash
It was a big mash.
Everyone was okay
Because they were strapped in today!
Soo…wear your seatbelts and drive safely every day!!!
(Grade 1)

Seat-belt Safety Check at
Madison High School
YOUNG MOTORISTS such as
Ashley Uthe, in car, participated in a
seat-belt safety check at Madison High
school on Wednesday, October 11, 2006.
Several volunteers helped out with the
project, including left to right, Nathan
Hoffman, Ty Vanderwerff and Marissa Nelson,
by checking for safety-belt use among
drivers and passengers. The student council
members also handed out candy suckers to
those individuals who were wearing their
seat belts. (Photo by Amanda Peck. Click to
